The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey - This book is a MUST for all student leaders. This book should be required for all students. With this book, it is possible to chart a course for the future.

Principle Centerd Leadership by Stephen Covey - This is a follow-up to the previous book that focuses on leaders and leadership.

Getting to Yes by Robert Fisher, William Ury and Bruce Patton - The guide to negotiating. Work with administrators, neighbors, or anybody else to settle disagreements in a mutually beneficial manner.

Roberts Rules of Order - A basis for running meetings. Most organizations will use some edited version of the rules (we'll explain more on this when the rest of the site is running). But it is good to have a resource on Roberts Rules.

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie - This book is filled with quotes, ideas, and thoughts on how to work together with people to accomplish great things.

Organizing for Social Change by Kim Bobo et. al. - A guidebook for starting and operating any type of organization.

Generation at the Crossroads by Paul Rogat Loeb - An interesting insight into what makes students tick. The students in the book are from ten years ago, but nonetheless, the book provides insight into the issues facing colleges and their students. Loeb discovers what makes some people volunteer while others do not.

A New Kind of Party Animal by Michele Mitchell - An introduction into the effect of young people on the political scene locally and nationally. This book will provide a better understanding into how students can make a difference.

Type Talk by Otto Kroeger and Janet Thuesen - The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a personality test that can help organization members discover their personality differences and work better together. This book outlines how the MBTI works, and provides basic descriptions of the sixteen types. This can be the basis for a valuable leadership program.

Exploring Leadership by Susan Komives - An introduction to leadership for students.

If At All Possible Involve a Cow by Steinberg - The guide to college student pranks.
